William R. Jackson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William "Bub" Jackson on December 11, 2025, at the age of 82.

Born in 1943, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was cherished by many.

Bub Jackson was a gentle and loving man who lived life on his own terms. His 39-year marriage to Lynda was one full of devotion and countless adventures.

Bub worked as a farmer, carpenter, and was most proud of his service in the United States Army as a Medic. Outside of working he enjoyed reading western novels and staying busy. For many years he was a 4-H advisor and found joy in helping the youth raise livestock. Long after his time as an advisor he never missed the chance to go to the county fair with his family and make many cherished memories.

Preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Robert Jackson; brother Bobby Jackson; and sister Judy McCafferty; and brother in-law Dave Ritter. Bub is survived by his wife Lynda; son, Shane (Shayla) Smith, daughter Angela (Tom Beck) Gump, grandchildren Journey, Jayden, Hudson, Izzy, Sophia, and Sam; and sisters-in-law, Nathalea (Chuck) Armentrout, and Rhonda Ritter.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, December 15, 2025, at Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, Ohio. Pastor Barb Pope will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16th at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.
