Ronald Ray Weiskittle, 70, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters.

Ron was born on June 7, 1956, and grew up in Quincy, Ohio, with his six brothers and sisters. He worked at his family's gravel pit, which later became the Weiskittle Campground. Some of his fondest memories were made there, enjoying summers and weekends at the river with family and friends.

On April 7, 1973, Ron married the love of his life and his soulmate, Jenean “Jeanie” Weiskittle, who survives. Together, they began building their life in DeGraff, Ohio, where they raised their two daughters, Debra “Debbie” Weiskittle and Julie (Jeremy) Pequignot, who also survive.

Ron and Jeanie eventually followed their shared love of the water, first moving to Indian Lake, then Daytona Beach, Florida, and finally settling in Fort Myers, where Ron lived until his passing.

If you knew Ron, you knew that his greatest love on earth was Jeanie. Their love was at the center of his life and served as the foundation of everything that followed - their family, their adventures, and their memories.

He was also the best dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend. Ron loved Diet Pepsi, Reese’s Cups, vacationing, and most of all, spending time with his family. He had a unique ability to make a good time great. Wherever Ron was, he had a way of making people laugh, making people feel comfortable, and creating memories that would last long after the day was over.

Ron lived every day of his life to the fullest. Even after receiving his diagnosis of brain cancer, he chose not to let cancer define him. He continued to make the most of the time he had with the people who mattered most.

He lived by two defining principles.

The first was “Never let them say I told you so,” a declaration he made on the day he said, “I do,” to his wife, Jeanie.

The second was to be the best Dad ever to his daughters, Debbie and Julie.

Ron lived by both principles and succeeded stunningly.

His love continued into the next generations. He was incredibly proud of his grandchildren: Eric (Karli) Egbert and Samantha Egbert, and his great-grandsons, Lincoln, Barrett, and Hayes. His family was one of his greatest sources of joy, and he cherished every moment he had with them.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Jeanie; daughters, Debbie Weiskittle and Julie (Jeremy) Pequignot; grandchildren, Eric (Karli) Egbert and Samantha Egbert; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Barrett, and Hayes; siblings William “Bill” Weiskittle, Susan (Kirby) Barrick, Cherie Kuhn, and Denise (Brian) Zelinski; siblings-in-law Howard “Skip” (Amy) Jackson, David (Jean) Jackson, and Diana (Chuck) Gamble; and many nieces and nephews, both great and otherwise.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Doris (Miller) Weiskittle; parents-in-law, Howard “Bud” and Jenean (Roush) Jackson; and siblings and in-laws Thomas and Beverly Weiskittle, Jerome and Mary Weiskittle, Sue Weiskittle, and Debra Jackson.

Ron lived a life of love. He loved the Lord, and his faith in God was the source of the love he gave so freely to others. He believed in making people feel valued, welcomed, and cared for. He had a way of leaving people better than he found them.

To honor Ron’s memory, borrow a tactic from his playbook: take your best love out for a night of dinner and dancing. Make a memory. Laugh a little longer. Hold your person a little closer.

Graveside services will be held at Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio, on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 2 p.m. with a gathering of friends and family immediately following at the Quincy Community Center.
