John Walter Easton

John W. Easton, 90, of DeGraff, passed away at 7:13 a.m. on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born on May 6, 1933, a son of the late Carl M. Easton and Gertrude H. (Eiler) Easton.

John is survived by three children, Christopher Easton, Jane (Thurman) Herring, and Sharon Hubble; six grandchildren, Joan, Zach, Megan, Tiffany, Kelsey, and Krista; 13 great grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Harold) Kies; and special friend, Yvonne Baugh. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lea Easton; four sisters, Carolyn Thornton, June Harbour, Bonnie Orsborne, and Evelyn Blackstone; and five brothers, Stanley Easton, Elmer Easton, Henry Easton, Edwin Easton, and infant brother, Carl William Easton.

Following his retirement from Mid-States Container in DeGraff, John enjoyed mowing grass for several DeGraff residents.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street in DeGraff, where Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made, in John’s memory, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
