Joan Moody, 94, of DeGraff, passed away at 10:35 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Ohio Living Dorothy Love in Sidney, Ohio. She was born in Logan County, Ohio on March 27, 1931, a daughter of the late Floyd Cecil Strayer and Gertrude (Evans) Strayer.
On June 4, 1950, Joan married Robert Eugene Moody, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Lynne Woolley; grandson, Scott Moody; three great grandchildren, Ruben Gibson Moody, Wyatt Moody, and Emma Moody; son-in-law, Tim Woolley; step granddaughter, Nicole Vagedes; and infant sister, Ilo Strayer; and a brother, Harry Franklin Strayer.
Joan is survived by two children, Steve (Audrey) Moody, and Connie Engler; nine grandchildren, Steven (Jamaica) Moody, Chris (Gwen) Moody, Adam Moody, Joni (Chris) Burmeister, Nikki (Mike) Tontrup, Brad (Stephanie) Woolley, Andrea (Brian) Lane, Jason Engler, Stacy (Rick) Cessna; several great grandchildren; step granddaughter, Kristel Forsythe; several step great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker and farmer’s wife, Joan had worked as a cook for both Indian Lake High School and Bellefontaine High School. She was a member of the First Church of God in West Liberty and the Ever Ready Club. Joan enjoyed crocheting and jigsaw puzzles.
Pastor Nate Wilcoxon will officiate a graveside service in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio at the family’s convenience.
